ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding chronic low back pain (CLBP) by looking for specific brain patterns, called biomarkers, that can help predict how the pain might progress over time. CLBP is a common condition that affects many adults and can severely impact their daily lives. Researchers will use a technique called electroencephalogram (EEG), which measures brain activity, to study how emotional and cognitive factors relate to pain in people with CLBP. By comparing patients with CLBP to healthy individuals, the team hopes to uncover important differences in brain function that could lead to better treatments tailored to each person’s needs.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 75 and have a current diagnosis of chronic low back pain. Those with certain conditions, such as cancer or severe psychiatric issues, or who are involved in legal proceedings related to an injury, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo brain activity assessments at the start of the study and again at 1 and 2 months, with additional follow-up to gather information about their pain and emotional health. This study aims to provide new insights into how the brain processes pain and to develop tools that may help improve treatment for those suffering from chronic low back pain.
