ClinConnect Summary
The SeARCH-trial is a clinical study aimed at improving the way we diagnose patients who have microscopic hematuria, which means they have blood in their urine that can only be seen under a microscope. The researchers want to see if using a special urine test as the first step can be just as effective as traditional cystoscopic evaluations, which are more invasive tests that involve looking inside the bladder. This trial is open to men aged 40 and older and women aged 50 and older who have been confirmed to have microscopic hematuria.
If you qualify and choose to participate, you will provide urine samples for testing and may be monitored for any symptoms related to your condition. It's important to note that individuals with a history of bladder cancer, those with visible blood in their urine, or women who are pregnant or might become pregnant cannot participate in this study. The goal of the trial is to find a safer and more efficient way to evaluate patients, which could lead to better care for those with potential bladder issues.
