ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how women heal after experiencing a tear or cut in the perineum (the area between the vagina and anus) during vaginal childbirth. Specifically, it compares two ways of treating these wounds: one approach involves careful management without further stitches, while the other involves re-stitching the wound. The goal is to learn more about how these treatments affect both short-term and long-term healing for women.

To participate, women must be at least 18 years old and have delivered vaginally with a second-degree tear or an episiotomy (a surgical cut made during delivery). Participants will have a gynecological exam one month and again 9-12 months after giving birth, have a picture taken of their healing wound, and complete questionnaires at different times to share their experiences. This study is currently looking for women who meet these criteria to help improve care for future mothers.
