ClinConnect Summary
The Permian Health Women's Lung Health Study is a research project aimed at understanding lung health among women in Gambia who are 15 years and older. Specifically, the study wants to find out how many women have problems with their lung function and if there is a type of inflammation in their lungs known as eosinophilic inflammation. To participate, women will undergo simple tests, including measuring how well they can breathe (spirometry) and checking for certain markers in their breath and blood that indicate lung health.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to identify as female and be over 15 years old. Unfortunately, women who are pregnant, have active lung diseases, or are currently very ill cannot take part. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it will provide important information about lung health in Gambian women, which can help improve healthcare in the future.
