ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of two types of fluid solutions, Ringer lactate solution (RLS) and normal saline solution (NSS), on kidney transplant recipients during their first week after surgery. The main goal is to find out which solution better helps maintain normal electrolyte levels, which are important for kidney function. Researchers believe that NSS may cause some issues with the kidneys, so they want to see if RLS is a better option.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have received a kidney transplant at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. Both types of kidney donors—living and deceased—are included, but those who have had multiple organ transplants or have allergies to the study solutions cannot participate. If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to receive either RLS or NSS, and the team will monitor your electrolyte levels and kidney function over the week following your transplant. This research could help improve care for future kidney transplant patients!
