ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how to better predict the outcomes of people who experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital setting. Each year, around 1,000 people in Upper Austria are revived through emergency resuscitation efforts, but many still do not survive or struggle to return to a normal life afterward. The goal of the trial is to use advanced technology, specifically artificial intelligence, to help doctors make more informed decisions about whether to continue or stop resuscitation efforts based on individual patient factors.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest between January 2015 and October 2023. They also need to have received treatment from emergency medical teams and been taken to Kepler University Hospital in Linz, Austria. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, it aims to improve the care of patients who experience cardiac arrest by using new technology to better understand their chances of recovery.
