ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new program designed to help cancer patients who also have breathing difficulties. The goal is to improve their quality of life and physical abilities after they leave the hospital by using a team of healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, nurses, physiotherapists, and doctors. They will provide support and training to help patients adapt their environments and regain their strength and function.
To participate in this trial, patients need to have a new or returning cancer diagnosis and be admitted to the Oncology Department at the University Hospital of Salamanca. They should also have some level of dependency, which will be assessed using a specific scoring system. However, patients with significant memory or cognitive issues, or low hemoglobin levels (a measure of certain blood components), will not be eligible. Those who join the study can expect personalized support and a program tailored to help them manage their respiratory issues and enhance their daily living skills. This trial aims to provide important insights into how we can better support cancer patients with breathing challenges after their hospital stay.
