ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different methods to help reduce pain after breast surgery, specifically post-mastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS), which can be a long-lasting issue for some women. The researchers want to compare the effects of two types of nerve blocks: the paravertebral plane block (PVPB) and the erector spinae plane block (ESPB). These techniques use local anesthesia to numb the area around the surgery site, which may help manage pain more effectively.

To participate in this trial, women between the ages of 18 and 60 who are scheduled for unilateral breast surgery and have certain health conditions (classified as ASA II or III) may be eligible. However, those who have allergies to local anesthetics, certain psychiatric conditions, or other specific health issues may not qualify. If you decide to participate, you’ll receive one of the two nerve blocks before your surgery, and the goal is to see which method works better in preventing pain after the procedure. It’s important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve pain management for future breast surgery patients.
