ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of surgery for thyroid cancer affect patients' quality of life. Thyroid cancer, especially the early form known as differentiated thyroid carcinoma, is becoming more common, particularly in women. The traditional method of surgery leaves a visible scar on the neck, while newer, minimally invasive techniques aim to reduce or eliminate this scar, potentially leading to better overall satisfaction and quality of life for patients. Researchers will be following patients regularly to assess their quality of life, voice, and the appearance of any scars using specific questionnaires.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of early-stage differentiated thyroid cancer. You should be able to read and write in Chinese and be willing to attend follow-up appointments. If you have other types of thyroid cancer or a history of certain medical issues, you may not be eligible. Participants in the trial can expect regular check-ins and assessments to help determine if the newer surgery methods truly provide a better experience than the traditional approach.
