ClinConnect Summary
The Family Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) Follow-up study is looking at new ways to monitor children who have recovered from severe and moderate acute malnutrition (SAM and MAM). This trial aims to see if teaching parents how to measure their child's arm circumference at home can effectively identify any future health issues, compared to the traditional method where families have to bring their children back to a health facility at scheduled times. The goal is to make it easier for families to get the help they need and to improve overall care for malnourished children.
To participate in this study, children aged 6 months to 5 years who have recently recovered from SAM or MAM are eligible. Caregivers should be planning to stay in the local area for at least the next six months. If you join the study, you will learn how to measure your child's arm circumference at home, which can help in monitoring their health after recovery. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to make follow-up care more accessible for families.
