ClinConnect Summary
The JUMPSTART Program is a new clinical trial designed to help patients recover more effectively after a procedure called Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), which is used to treat a heart condition known as aortic valve stenosis. This program includes a series of exercise videos that patients can follow at home to improve their mobility and overall recovery after leaving the hospital. The aim of this trial is to find better ways to encourage patients to participate in this program and to gather feedback to make it even more helpful.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be outpatients who have undergone the TAVR procedure at Hamilton General Hospital and have successfully completed an assessment to determine they can walk independently. The program is open to all adults, but unfortunately, those who have had complications requiring hospitalization or certain other conditions may not qualify. Participants can expect to engage with tailored exercise materials and provide feedback through follow-up surveys, helping to shape the future of recovery programs for TAVR patients.
