ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how well different tools can assess frailty, which is a condition that makes older adults more vulnerable and can affect their recovery after surgery. The researchers want to see if routine frailty screening can be effectively introduced in a specialized outpatient clinic for vascular surgery patients. They will compare five different frailty assessment methods to determine which one provides the best insights into a patient's health. The study will also look at differences in assessments made by patients themselves versus those made by healthcare professionals.

To participate in this study, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) attending the Vascular Hot Clinic. However, if you cannot provide informed consent, if the clinical team feels that a frailty assessment isn't suitable for you, or if you need a translator but one is not available, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo different assessments to determine your level of frailty, which may help doctors better understand your health and improve care for patients like you in the future.
