ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help doctors better identify different types of polyps during colonoscopy screenings. Polyps are growths in the colon that can be benign (non-cancerous) or neoplastic (potentially cancerous). By using AI to analyze images from the colonoscopy, the researchers hope to develop more effective and cost-saving strategies for screening programs. This could lead to improved personalized treatment for patients at risk of colorectal cancer by providing reliable information, regardless of the doctor’s experience.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 40 years old and undergoing a colonoscopy for specific reasons. However, individuals with a personal history of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, or certain genetic conditions, among others, will not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to undergo a standard colonoscopy, but with the added benefit of the AI technology to help assess your polyp risk. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could contribute to advancing screening methods that may benefit many people in the future.
