ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how the use of PrEP (a medication that helps prevent HIV) affects people’s use of health and social services in Washington, DC. The main goal is to see if people who are using PrEP access more services, like sexual health screenings, mental health support, and other community resources, compared to those who have never used PrEP before. Researchers will follow participants for 12 months to gather this information.

To be eligible for the study, participants must be 18 years or older, live in the Washington, DC area, and be confirmed as HIV-negative. They should also either be new to PrEP or currently using it. Participants can expect to engage with various health services during the study and will be asked to complete some assessments over the year. It's important to note that individuals who are younger than 18, do not speak or read English, or cannot provide consent cannot participate. This study aims to better understand how PrEP users interact with health services, which could help improve support for people at risk of HIV.
