ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how problems with the jaw joint, known as temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), affect people’s voices and their overall quality of life. TMD is quite common, affecting about 25% of the population, especially women. The study will look closely at how difficulty opening the mouth due to TMD can change vocal quality and how this impacts daily living. Researchers are exploring whether improvements in jaw function can lead to better vocal abilities and a higher quality of life for those affected.

To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 18 and 65 years old, able to communicate effectively in the local language, and have no history of voice problems or serious hearing issues. Participants will be asked to share their experiences regarding their voice and jaw health. This study is currently recruiting, and those interested should be aware that pregnant or nursing women and individuals with pre-existing vocal disorders cannot participate. This research aims to provide valuable insights into how treating TMD might improve not just voice quality, but also the overall well-being of patients.
