ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating two different types of therapy—hippotherapy (which involves riding horses) and Swiss ball training (using large inflatable balls)—to see which one helps improve trunk control and balance in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Spastic diplegia is a type of cerebral palsy that affects movement and coordination, especially in the legs. The main goal is to find out which therapy is more effective for improving balance and control in these children.
To participate in this study, children must be between 4 and 11 years old and diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, specifically with mild symptoms. They should be able to follow simple commands and be in stable health. Unfortunately, children with other medical conditions, like epilepsy or significant learning difficulties, cannot take part. If eligible, participants will engage in either hippotherapy or Swiss ball training sessions, allowing researchers to compare how each method benefits their balance and trunk control over time. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity for families to get involved and contribute to important research.
