ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a specific type of pulmonary hypertension (PH) known as "out-of-proportion" PH, which occurs when patients have high blood pressure in the lungs that is more severe than what would be expected given their lung disease. The goal is to better understand the different types, or "phenotypes," of this condition, which can help doctors choose the best treatment options for patients. The trial is open to adults aged 65 and older who have severe pulmonary hypertension related to chronic lung disease, and it aims to recruit participants who meet these criteria.

If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo assessments to confirm the severity of your pulmonary hypertension and its connection to your lung condition. It's important to note that certain people are not eligible, including those under 18, those with severe PH that matches the expected level for their lung disease, and individuals with specific health issues that could complicate the study. Overall, this research hopes to improve how we understand and treat pulmonary hypertension in patients with lung diseases.
