ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective artificial intelligence (AI) can be in helping emergency doctors diagnose bone fractures compared to the traditional method of doctors reading the images themselves. When patients come to the emergency department with suspected fractures, doctors often have to make quick decisions before they get the official reading from a radiologist, who may not be available right away. This can lead to mistakes in interpreting the images. In this study, some patients will have their X-rays looked at by both the emergency doctor and AI, while others will only have the emergency doctor review their images. All images will also be reviewed by expert radiologists within 24 hours to catch any missed fractures.
To join the study, patients need to be admitted to the emergency department for possible fractures in their arms or legs. They must also agree to participate by signing a consent form. Participants in the trial can expect to have their X-rays assessed using both AI and traditional methods, and if any fractures are detected later, they will be contacted for further treatment. It's important for patients to know that this research aims to improve the accuracy of fracture diagnoses in emergency situations, ultimately helping to provide better care.
