ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different ways to help young people aged 14 to 21 quit using tobacco products. The main goal is to find out whether participating in tobacco cessation classes led by peers (other young people) is more effective than doing it on their own without any peer support. The study is happening in Baltimore City, focusing on high schools and colleges, especially in underserved communities. Participants will either join peer-led classes with support and encouragement or follow the same curriculum by themselves using available resources.
To be eligible for the trial, individuals must be current tobacco users, ready to quit, and have access to a device with internet. They should be between the ages of 14 and 21. Participants can expect to take part in an eight-week program where they will learn about quitting tobacco and receive ongoing support, either from their peers or through self-navigation. This research aims to see which method helps more young people quit smoking and stay tobacco-free.
