ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a traditional Chinese medicine called Buyang Huanwu Decoction to see if it can help people with normal tension glaucoma, a type of eye condition where pressure in the eye is normal but vision can still be affected. The main goal is to find out if this treatment can improve patients' eyesight and overall visual field, and to ensure it is safe for use. Participants will take either 3 grams of the decoction or a placebo (a substance with no active medical effect) once a day for 12 weeks.
To join the study, participants must be diagnosed with normal tension glaucoma for at least three months and not be taking more than one medication for their glaucoma. They should not have other eye diseases or serious health issues, such as diabetes or cancer. Throughout the trial, researchers will compare the results from those taking the decoction with those taking the placebo to see if there are any significant improvements in vision. It’s important to note that the trial is not recruiting participants yet, and anyone interested will need to provide informed consent before taking part.
