ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the "Effects of the Close Collaboration in Nagano 2," is looking at how a new approach to family-centered care can help parents of newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The goal is to see if working closely with parents can improve their experience in the NICU, reduce their anxiety, and help them feel more ready to take their baby home. The study will take place from December 2023 to December 2024 and will compare the experiences of parents before and after this new care approach is introduced.
To participate in the study, parents need to have a baby who has been in the NICU for at least two weeks. Unfortunately, parents who do not speak Japanese as their first language or who need mental health support after birth will not be eligible. Throughout the study, parents can expect to share their experiences and feelings about the care their baby receives, which will help researchers understand how to make improvements in the NICU for families like theirs.
