ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how poor sleep might be linked to Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) in children and teenagers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Researchers want to compare those who have both ASD and CAPD to those who only have ASD, to see how sleep quality affects their ability to process sounds and how this may relate to other challenges they face, like managing their emotions and behavior.
To participate in this study, children and adolescents must have a confirmed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and an IQ of 50 or higher. Unfortunately, those with certain conditions like sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, or any significant neurological disorders won't be eligible. Participants will be asked to complete some questionnaires and undergo assessments by clinicians to gather information about their sleep and auditory processing. The study is currently recruiting participants of all genders aged between 2 and 17. This research could provide valuable insights into the connections between sleep and auditory processing in kids with ASD.
