ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether placing a temporary stent in the bile duct can help prevent the recurrence of stones in patients who have already had their bile duct cleared and are waiting for gallbladder surgery. The researchers want to find out if this stent can reduce the chances of stones coming back or causing complications after the initial treatment.
To participate in the trial, individuals should be between 18 and 80 years old and have had their bile duct cleared of stones. However, some people are not eligible, including those who have had previous liver or bile duct surgeries, those who have had their gallbladder removed, or those with certain medical conditions that could complicate the study. Participants will receive careful monitoring and follow-up to see how well the stent works and to ensure their safety throughout the study. This trial is important because it could lead to better ways to manage and prevent bile duct stones in the future.
