ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether lavender aromatherapy can help reduce nausea and vomiting after surgery for patients who have received general anesthesia. Post-operative nausea and vomiting can lead to serious health issues, so researchers are exploring lavender essential oil as a natural alternative to traditional medications that often come with side effects. The trial will take place at the District Head Quarter Sheikhupura and involve 70 patients who are having laparotomy surgery. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive lavender aromatherapy, while the other will not.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be between 18 and 65 years old, both male and female, and must have experienced nausea and vomiting within 24 hours after their surgery. However, patients with certain conditions, like respiratory diseases or a history of motion sickness, will not be included. If you join the study, you can expect to be part of a randomized group where your chances of receiving lavender aromatherapy will be determined by chance. This trial aims to find out if lavender can be an effective way to help patients feel better after surgery, without the side effects of traditional medications.
