ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different methods of managing blood sugar levels can affect heart health in patients with type 2 diabetes who also have significant narrowing of their coronary arteries. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will use a continuous glucose monitoring system (which tracks blood sugar levels in real-time) to guide their treatment, while the other group will follow standard management based on a blood test known as HbA1c. The main goal is to see which method better reduces the risk of serious heart events, such as heart attacks or strokes.

To participate in this study, individuals need to be between 35 and 75 years old, have type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c level between 7.5% and 10%, and have moderate to severe narrowing of their coronary arteries. They should also have had a stable blood sugar management plan for the past three months. Participants can expect to have their blood sugar monitored regularly over two years, and both groups will receive care according to established diabetes guidelines. This trial is still in the planning stages and is not yet recruiting participants.
