ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a tool called the Modified A-DIVA Scale, which helps healthcare providers determine the best way to access a vein for patients needing a peripheral venous line (PVA). This procedure is often necessary for patients with chronic diseases but can be challenging and may result in multiple attempts, leading to pain and anxiety. By using the A-DIVA Scale, nurses can better predict the likelihood of successfully accessing a vein on the first try, which could improve patient comfort and preserve their veins for future use.
To participate in this trial, you must be an adult patient who requires a peripheral venous line and can communicate in French. Unfortunately, if you have certain conditions, such as not having an upper limb for access or if you're being treated for an emergency, you won't be eligible. If you do join, you can expect to be part of a study that aims to enhance your care experience and reduce the discomfort associated with getting a venous line. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help improve the care for future patients.
