ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Screening Diagnosis of Fall Risk After Stroke and Initial Intervention: A fNIRs Study," is investigating how to identify patients who are at risk of falling after they've had a stroke. Researchers are using a special technology called functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRs) to examine how well stroke patients can balance and perform movements like standing up from a seated position. The goal is to find ways to help prevent falls, which can lead to serious injuries.
To participate in this study, eligible participants include adults aged 18 to 85 who have been diagnosed with a stroke through brain scans (like CT or MRI) and can follow instructions. Healthy individuals who meet the same age range and can also complete a sit-to-stand transition are welcome to join. However, those with certain health conditions, serious mental illnesses, or specific medical histories may not qualify. If you decide to participate, you can expect to undergo some tests that assess your balance and movement, and you’ll be helping researchers learn more about how to keep stroke survivors safe from falls in the future.
