ClinConnect Summary
The Face It Evaluation is a study looking at a program called Face It, which helps young people in school who may be at risk of getting into trouble, being excluded from school, or facing other challenges. The program is designed to help these students understand their feelings and behaviors better and to explore the reasons behind any disruptive actions. Over six weeks, participants will take part in a mix of group activities, individual sessions, and creative exercises led by trained professionals. The goal is to give them tools to make positive choices and avoid paths that could lead to crime or exclusion from school.
To be eligible for this program, students need to be in years 9 or 10, speak functional English, and be willing to participate. They should have faced social difficulties or have disengaged from school but must not be permanently excluded or receiving one-on-one support for special educational needs. Throughout the trial, the researchers will gather feedback to see how well the program works and if it should be expanded for more students in the future. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested can learn more about how to get involved.
