ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different methods of treating kidney stones impact patients' pain and comfort after surgery. Specifically, it compares the use of a nephrostomy tube and a double J stent during a procedure called percutaneous nephrolithotomy, which is a minimally invasive surgery to remove larger kidney stones. Researchers want to see if one method is better than the other in reducing pain after the operation.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have kidney stones that are larger than 2 centimeters. Unfortunately, if you have certain anatomical issues with your kidneys or if you have bleeding disorders, you won't be able to join. If you enroll, you can expect to be monitored for your pain levels and comfort after the surgery, helping doctors better understand the best ways to treat patients with kidney stones in the future. The study is currently recruiting participants, so there’s an opportunity to contribute to important medical research.
