ClinConnect Summary
This study is testing whether a 12-week microteaching training program helps university students studying physical education in China improve their teaching skills compared with conventional training. It’s a randomized, single-blind trial where participants are assigned to either the microteaching group or the standard-training group, and they will be evaluated using five skill areas (verbal commands, explaining movements, demonstrating movements, correcting mistakes, and organizing/manage class activities) with short evaluation forms about two weeks into the training period.
Eligible participants are university students majoring in physical education who are healthy, able to complete all tests, understand the study goals, and have no prior microteaching experience. Exclusions include students not in physical education, those who don’t finish all tests, those who don’t understand the study purposes, or those with previous microteaching experience. The study plans to enroll about 60 students at Yancheng Teachers University in Yancheng, Jiangsu, China, with researchers from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Enrollment is ongoing by invitation, and the anticipated completion date is December 2023.
