ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "The Patient's First Point of Contact," is focusing on how nurses communicate with patients during their first visit in primary care. The study aims to understand what patients expect and experience when they meet a registered nurse for the first time. It will look at how well nurses involve patients in their own care decisions and how nurses handle their assessments and make choices about patient care. By identifying good communication practices and the challenges nurses face, the researchers hope to develop better ways for nurses to effectively assess and prioritize patient needs.
To participate in this study, you need to be a patient visiting a primary care nurse for a new health issue or a new episode of a problem, or a registered nurse working in a primary care setting. Unfortunately, patients with chronic or ongoing health problems cannot take part. If you join the study, you can expect to help researchers understand how to improve the communication and decision-making process in primary care, which may ultimately lead to better care for all patients.
