ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a treatment called High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy on patients who have airway stents due to breathing problems. Airway stents are small tubes that help keep airways open, and this trial aims to see if HFNC can help improve moisture and clear mucus from the airways better than the usual treatment, which is nebulizing normal saline (a saltwater solution). By keeping the stent clean, the hope is to reduce the chances of complications such as infections and blockages.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have had a stent placed in your airway to treat either cancer or non-cancerous issues. You also need to give your written consent to join. However, some people may not be eligible, including those who have had recent nose surgery or facial injuries, are pregnant, or have certain mental health conditions. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive HFNC therapy and help researchers understand whether it can make a difference in your care.
