ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how eating tropical fruits regularly might help patients with primary glaucoma, a condition that affects the eyes and can lead to vision loss. The study will take place from February 2024 to June 2025 at the Ophthalmology Clinic in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, and it is currently recruiting participants. To be eligible, you need to have a confirmed diagnosis of primary open-angle glaucoma or primary angle-closure glaucoma, have been on medication for at least six months, and be successfully managing your eye pressure. However, if you have poorly controlled diabetes, high blood pressure, or other specific health issues, you may not qualify.
If you decide to participate, you can expect to be part of a randomized controlled trial, which means you might receive either the tropical fruits or standard care. This trial is important because it may provide insights into how diet can play a role in managing glaucoma. Remember, this study welcomes all adults with the condition, and your involvement could contribute to understanding better ways to help people with glaucoma.
