ClinConnect Summary
The Living With a Long-Term Condition Study is a research project focused on understanding how psychological distress, such as anxiety and depression, affects people living with ongoing health issues like asthma, diabetes, or cancer. The goal is to create and test a new tool called the Illness Related Distress Scale, which will help researchers and doctors measure this distress more accurately. By doing so, they hope to tailor support and interventions specifically for individuals facing these challenges.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old, live in the UK, and have a self-reported diagnosis of a long-term health condition. You should also be comfortable reading and writing in English and have an email address for communication. If eligible, you'll be asked to complete some questionnaires online, which will help researchers gather important information about how living with a long-term condition affects your mental well-being. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could play a significant role in improving care for others in similar situations.
