ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a special treatment called photobiomodulation, which uses red laser light, on healing wounds in the mouth after gingival graft surgery. The researchers want to find out if this laser therapy can help patients feel less pain and recover more quickly compared to just using a protective dressing over the wound. Participants will either receive the laser treatment on the area where the graft was taken from their palate or just have the area covered with a dressing. The study will track participants for up to 60 days to see how their pain levels and overall quality of life change during recovery.
To join this trial, participants should be between the ages of 18 and 75 and must have healthy tissue in their mouth, as they will need surgery to take a graft from their palate. However, individuals who smoke, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain medical conditions may not be eligible. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive either the laser therapy or the dressing, and you will help researchers learn more about how to improve healing after this type of surgery.
