ClinConnect Summary

The CF-CT Registry is a clinical trial that aims to understand the long-term effects of a specific heart procedure called left atrial appendage (LAA) closure. This procedure is often performed on patients with atrial fibrillation—a condition where the heart beats irregularly—to help reduce the risk of blood clots and strokes. The study will look at around 100 patient records to see how common complications, such as leaks around the device or blood clots, occur after the procedure and whether these complications are linked to certain factors observed in CT scans.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and have had an LAA closure using devices called Watchman/Watchman FLX or Amplatzer Amulet between January 2019 and June 2022. There are no specific exclusions, so most patients who had this procedure will be included. Participants will not need to do anything extra for this study; the researchers will review existing medical records to gather the necessary information. This trial is currently recruiting and aims to provide valuable insights into the safety and effectiveness of LAA closure procedures over time.
