ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches can help adults who currently smoke cigarettes reduce their smoking habits and dependence on nicotine. The researchers want to find out which type of product, and what flavors or nicotine strengths, may be most effective for helping smokers cut down or quit. The trial will involve about 256 adults who are 21 years or older and are currently smoking cigarettes but are not planning to quit using traditional methods like nicotine patches or medications in the next month.
Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to use either e-cigarettes or nicotine pouches for four weeks. They will have bi-weekly check-ins, either in person or through video calls, to discuss their experiences and progress. At the end of the study, there will be a follow-up to see how well they maintained any reduction in cigarette smoking and whether they would continue using the alternative products on their own. This trial is open to all genders and aims to gather valuable information on smoking reduction strategies.
