ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how certain brain wave patterns, measured during and after surgery, might be related to a common issue called awakening agitation in children. Awakening agitation is when children become restless or upset right after waking up from general anesthesia. The study will involve children aged 1 to 10 years old who are having minor surgeries, like hernia or appendix operations, and who are generally healthy.
To be part of this trial, children must not have had any recent respiratory infections and should not have any major health issues that could complicate anesthesia. During the study, researchers will monitor the children’s brain activity while they are under anesthesia and as they wake up. This information will help doctors understand how to make the waking up process smoother for kids after surgery. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, so it will begin at a later date.
