ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how effective xenon sedation can be in reducing psychological stress for patients who are about to undergo laser vision correction surgery. The researchers want to see if inhaling a small amount of xenon gas can help calm patients who experience high levels of anxiety and stress before their surgery. They will compare the experiences of those receiving xenon sedation to a control group to find out whether it helps lower stress levels, makes the surgery go more smoothly, and reduces pain afterward.

To participate in this study, you must be scheduled for a specific type of eye surgery called ReLEx® SMILE and have a high level of anxiety, as determined by a simple test. The trial is open to individuals aged 65 and older. Participants will need to provide their consent to take part and will be monitored for their anxiety levels, blood sugar, and heart activity. This research aims to find better ways to help patients feel more comfortable and less anxious before surgery.
