ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a condition called esophageal varices, which are swollen veins in the esophagus that can bleed and cause serious health issues, especially in patients with liver cirrhosis. The main goal of the study is to understand how often bleeding occurs after a specific treatment called endoscopic band ligation (a procedure that uses bands to stop the bleeding) and to identify the risk factors and potential outcomes for patients after this treatment. The researchers also aim to find ways to reduce the chance of bleeding after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with esophageal varices through an upper endoscopy, which is a test that allows doctors to look at your esophagus. Unfortunately, children are not eligible, and if someone decides not to take part, they will not be included in the study. If you join the trial, you will be monitored to see how well the treatment works and what happens afterward, helping to improve care for future patients with this condition.
