ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the effects of scapular stabilization exercises on adolescents with a condition called adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), which is a common spinal deformity. The trial aims to see if these exercises, when combined with a specific type of therapy called Schroth exercises, can improve the position of the shoulder blades, balance between the shoulders, and the overall curve of the spine in individuals with AIS. This is important because changes in the shoulder blades often occur alongside scoliosis and can affect how the body moves.
To participate in this study, individuals must be diagnosed with AIS and have a spinal curve that measures between 10° and 30°. They should be between the ages of 12 and 18 and have not undergone any spine or shoulder surgery. Participants can expect to engage in a program that includes both scapular stabilization and Schroth exercises, which are designed to help improve their condition. The trial is currently recruiting, and both boys and girls are welcome to join. If you are interested or know someone who might be, it’s a great opportunity to potentially benefit from new therapies tailored for scoliosis.
