ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new training program designed to help prevent knee injuries, specifically anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, in female football players. ACL injuries are common in women’s football, making up a significant portion of injuries during the season. The goal of the study is to see if a specific training protocol can effectively reduce the risk of these injuries, especially for players who show a condition known as dynamic knee valgus (DKV), which affects how they land and jump.
To participate in the trial, women must be between 18 and 35 years old, have at least one year of football experience, and have DKV. Players with previous knee injuries or certain health issues will not be eligible. The trial will last for 12 weeks, during which participants will be divided into two groups: one group will follow the new training program, while the other will not. Throughout the study, the players' movement patterns and training satisfaction will be evaluated to assess the program’s effectiveness. This research is important as it aims to provide a tailored approach to injury prevention in women’s football, an area that has not been well-explored yet.
