ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how changes in the shape of the spine, specifically in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (a common type of spine curvature), might affect shoulder balance after surgery. The surgery being examined, called selective thoracolumbar fusion (STLF), is designed to correct the curve of the spine. However, some patients experience uneven shoulders after the operation, which can affect their appearance and satisfaction. The researchers want to find out if the position of the spine before and after surgery has any impact on this shoulder imbalance.
To participate in this study, individuals must be diagnosed with a specific type of scoliosis (Lenke 1 or 2) and have undergone the STLF surgery. The trial is open to all genders, and participants will be closely monitored to track changes in their spine and shoulder alignment over time. Understanding these relationships could help doctors improve surgical outcomes and reduce the risk of shoulder imbalance for future patients.
