ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "ICU-NO CRBSI," is focused on preventing a type of infection known as Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infection (CRBSI) in patients who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The study aims to improve the quality of care by using evidence-based practices to ensure that healthcare providers follow the best methods for keeping central venous catheters (thin tubes placed in large veins) safe and clean. Researchers will look at how often these infections happen and how well staff are following safety guidelines.
To be eligible for this trial, patients need to be staying in the ICU for more than 48 hours and must have had a central venous catheter in place for more than 24 hours. Unfortunately, pregnant patients and those with a history of CRBSI or who had their catheter placed at another hospital cannot participate. If you or a family member are eligible, you can expect to receive standard care along with additional support aimed at improving safety and quality during the ICU stay. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement can help enhance the care for future patients.
