ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different surgical methods for treating complex kidney stones in obese patients. The two methods being compared are standard Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and Endoscopic Combined Intrarenal Surgery (ECIRS). The goal is to find out which method is more effective and safer for patients who have these challenging types of kidney stones.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult between the ages of 18 and 60 and have specific types of kidney stones, called staghorn stones, which are large and can fill the kidney. Additionally, you should have a body mass index (BMI) over 30, which means you are considered obese or super-obese. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo one of the two surgical procedures while being closely monitored for any complications or side effects. This research aims to improve treatment options for patients like you, so your participation could help others in the future.
