ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how well people who are severely to profoundly deaf can improve their hearing after getting a cochlear implant, which is a device that helps them hear. The researchers want to find out what factors might predict how successful the hearing rehabilitation will be after the surgery. This study is currently looking for participants aged 65 to 74, and it is open to anyone, regardless of gender, who meets the eligibility requirements.
To be eligible, participants must be diagnosed as severely to profoundly deaf according to specific health guidelines. However, certain conditions might exclude someone from joining, such as having a cochlear malformation that makes the surgery impossible or if they cannot undergo an MRI (a type of imaging test). Participants can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve hearing rehabilitation for future patients. Additionally, it’s important for potential participants to know that their data will be used for research purposes, and they must be comfortable with that.
