ClinConnect Summary
The Davis Flavanol Intake Study (FID) is a research trial looking to understand how much flavanol—a natural compound found in foods like apples, berries, cocoa, and tea—people eat in their everyday diets. Researchers will collect urine samples from participants to analyze the breakdown products of flavanols, called metabolites, which can provide insights into the types and amounts of these compounds consumed. This study is currently recruiting adults between the ages of 25 and 75 who have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 34.9 and weigh at least 110 pounds.
If you decide to participate, you will need a device like a computer, tablet, or smartphone to join video calls with the study team. It's important to note that individuals who have certain medical conditions, such as a history of gastrointestinal issues or substance abuse, and those who are currently part of another clinical study may not be eligible. This study aims to gather important data about dietary flavanol intake, which could have implications for health and nutrition in the future.
