ClinConnect Summary

The PICTURE-THIS trial is a study aimed at helping people who have survived a serious illness, like those who have spent time in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It is testing a new program designed to support these survivors and their families as they recover and adjust after their hospital stay. The program includes help from a team of specialists who will guide patients through rehabilitation activities and coordinate their care as they transition back home. The researchers want to see if this program is easy for patients and their families to use and if it can be helpful in improving their recovery.

To participate in this study, patients need to be at least 50 years old, have spent at least 48 hours in an ICU, and have a good chance of living for at least another year. Family caregivers must be at least 21 years old, speak English, and have been providing support to the patient since their ICU stay. During the trial, participants will be asked for their feedback on the program and how it affects their recovery. This study is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should check if they meet the eligibility criteria.
