ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how acupuncture combined with pelvic floor exercises can help women who have overactive bladder syndrome (OAB). OAB is a condition that causes a sudden urge to urinate, which can be very uncomfortable and disruptive. The researchers want to see if this combined approach can improve symptoms and quality of life for those affected.
To join the study, participants need to be women aged 50 to 60 who have been diagnosed with idiopathic OAB, meaning the cause of their symptoms isn’t linked to any other medical issues. They should also have had two to three vaginal deliveries and have a body mass index (BMI) of less than 35. Participants will be asked to commit to the study protocol and complete some assessments to track their progress. It’s important to note that women who smoke, have certain medical conditions, or are taking specific medications may not be eligible. If you qualify, you can expect to engage in acupuncture sessions alongside pelvic floor exercises, which may help reduce your OAB symptoms.
