ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a substance called neurofilament light chain (NF-L) to see if it can help doctors diagnose acute ischemic stroke and predict how well patients will recover. Acute ischemic stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is blocked, and this trial aims to understand how NF-L levels in the blood can indicate the severity of the stroke and the outcomes for patients. The trial will also look at patients with chronic ischemic stroke, which means they have had stroke symptoms for 6 to 12 months.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have symptoms that suggest you are having a stroke within 24 hours of onset. Healthy individuals can also join as control cases. However, if you have certain conditions such as brain tumors, bleeding in the brain, or specific neurological diseases like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, you won't be eligible. Participants will provide blood samples for testing, and your involvement will help researchers learn more about stroke and improve future treatments.
